Mungkin kalau dahulu kala kata orang tua mencari kerja pada jaman dulu merupakan perkara yang gampang. Gak perlu surat lamaran kerja, cukup dating ke perusahaan yang sedang membuka lowongan sambil membawa ijazah. Gak pernah ada test psikotest, paling cuma wawancara sebagai formalitas saja. 
Sekarang keadaan sudah sangat jauh berbeda, saat ini era “Hypercompetion” dimana perusahaan harus mampu berkompetisi atau hancur sama sekali. Hal inilah yang menjadi salah satu penyebab ketatnya kompetisi antar para pelamar dan mendorong bursa kerja menjadi semakin “kejam”. Panggilan pertama saja mungkin sudah menjadi anugerah buat mayoritas pelamar meskipun belum sampai ke tahap wawancara.
Hal – hal diatas bisa terjadi karena perusahaan membeda – bedakan criteria masing – masimg pelamar. Ada yang memenuhi kriteria, ada juga yang tidak memenuhi kriteria yang diinginkan bahkan ada juga karena criteria yang dimiliki pelamar berlebih sehingga menyebabkan perusahaan enggan untuk menerima. Nah yang menjadi permasalahannya sekarang adalah mampukah pasar kerja indonesia menampung orang – orang tersebut sebab jika dilihat, kemampuan yang hampir setara dengan Amerika menyebabkan perusahaan di Indonesia tidak mampu menampung. Alhasil banyak dari mereka mencoba mencari kerja di luar negeri dimana mereka jauh lebih dihargai dari pada di negeri sendiri.
Di satu sisi ini merupakan jalan keluar yang baik, mereka bisa jauh lebih dihargai, kompensasi yang didapat juga lebih, pemerintah juga senang karena mengurangi angka pengangguran, devisa negara bertambah. Tapi di sisi yang lain menimbulkan permasalahan jangka panjang karena berkembangnya perusahaan – perusahaan asing ditangan anak negeri. Bahkan sangat disayangkan bila ternyata perusahaan tersebut datang ke Indonesia dan ikut berkompetisi di negara ini dimana produk yang ditawarkan ternyata dibangun oleh tangan anak negeri.
